The 56th Annual Meeting is a three-day program offering a realistic view of current clinical topics in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, customary and prevailing, controversial and/or investigational, including basic and clinical research. A faculty of leaders are invited to share their knowledge and experience of complex cases and new technology relevant to surgeons practicing thoracic surgery.
The format consists of faculty and resident didactic oral presentations with moderated discussion periods, poster presentations and surgical videos focusing on basic research, quality assurance, ischemic heart disease, valvular heart disease, congestive heart failure and treatment, treatment of thoracic aneurysms, lung cancer, esophageal cancer, and thoracic trauma and benign esophageal and pulmonary disease.
The 56th Annual Meeting of the Eastern Cardiothoracic Surgical Society is open to all members of the Society along with residents, fellows, medical students, non-surgeons, non-members, spouses and guests.
The meeting is being held at the Opal Sands Resort in Clearwater Beach, Florida.
